Does anyone else not see a difference using an upconvert dvd player? - upconvert dvd is grainy
I have a 50in Samsung 1080p DLP HDTV. I bought an upscaling DVD player and an HDMI cable and thought that my standard DVD player would be fantastic. After the table is said to have "a better video and video-sampling the image quality is improved dramatically." I put the DVD player to my HDTV with HDMI cables and the resolution to 1080i on my DVD player. Frankly, I can not tell a difference between that and I used my standard cable. Am I doing something wrong?

Do not be surprised. New HDTV do a better job at deinterlacing and development of low-end Upconverting player, so that in fact there is no need for these players.
Save your money and buy a few months, a true HD or Blu-ray.
Achieve the best results, set the DVD player to 480i and do not leave the TV on all scales. Use component cables.
A DVD player with upscaling would look better on a TV in 720p or 1080i. The fact that you have a 1080p TV, if you send 480p, 720p or 1080i, the TV Upconverting to 1080p. The fact that the upscaling, why do not distinguish between the standard component cables vs. HDMI to see.
You're better off buying a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD DVD player, where you can watch the DVD in its native resolution of 1080p.
